Q:  Is it necessary to have previous teaching experience to be a C2 Education Franchisee?

A:  No.  While it helps to have an educational background, C2 will provide you the training to operate a C2 franchise.  Our partners come from diverse backgrounds.  We ask only that you devote your efforts to operating your C2 store.  

Q:  Does C2 provide financing?

A:  No, but we work with several institutions that aid franchisees in acquiring financing.  In order to obtain financing these institutions typically require good credit and a 30%-40% cash investment of the total project cost.

Q:  Will I be trained to run my C2 Education Center?

A:  Yes – all franchisees must attend and successfully complete the training program provided by C2 Education at its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.  All owners and operating managers are required to attend the training class.  The cost of training is included in your franchise fee.  Travel, lodging, and food expenses are the responsibility of the franchisee.

Q:  What are the financial requirements to open a C2?

A:  C2 requires a net worth of $300,000, with $125,000 liquid assets available.

Q:  What does an average C2 cost to open?

A:  C2 provides in its Franchise Disclosure Document a range of $224,100 to $279,800.  These figures do not include operating capital for your business.  We typically request you have between 2 and 3 months of expenses on hand.

Q:  What is the Initial Franchise Fee for C2?

A:  C2 charges $47,500 as its initial fee.  There are discounts for additional stores.

Q:  How much does C2 charge for royalties and advertising?

A:  C2 charges 8% of gross sales for royalties.  C2 requires that each store spend a minimum of 5% for local advertising, and 2% for national advertising.  (For local and national advertising please review our FDD for further explanation).
   
Q:  How much money can I make from a C2 Education Center?

A:  C2 Education does not provide earnings claims.  Each center has a different set of costs associated with it; therefore we cannot accurately forecast earnings.  We encourage you to contact current franchisees for information to help with your business plan.  Based on the information you are provided, you should be able to construct an outline for your pro forma.

Q:  What is the length of the Franchise Agreement?

A:  The length is 10 years, with a 10 year option.

Q:  How long does it take to open a C2 location?

A:  The typical time it takes to open a C2 store is three (3) to six (6) months.  Once a lease has been signed it typically takes four (4) to eight (8) weeks to construct a location from the time you receive your building permits.

Q:  What is the typical size of a C2 location?

A:  C2 stores typically range in size from 1,400 to 1,800 square feet.  Based on factors ranging from availability to demographics, we do have stores that are as small as 1,200 square feet to as large as 2,500 square feet.
